“Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind”

Just beyond the borders of Liberty Lake, at the intersection of Barker and Sprague, you will find a garden of colorful campaign signs.

Knowing nothing about Spokane Valley politics; the names don’t mean much to me. I just feel thankful all those signs are not growing out of Liberty Lake dirt.

One of the signs, which must get the most water, is very large. The overgrown sign reads, “ROD HIGGINS YOUR CLEAR CONSERVATIVE CHOICE!”
It struck me that either I don’t know the meaning of the word or Mr. Higgins isn’t clearly conservative. So, I decided to look it up. Here are some of the synonyms for “conservative” when used as an adjective.

conventional, sober, modest, plain, unobtrusive, restrained, subtle, low-key, demure, unshowy, unflashy, low, cautious, understated, moderate, reasonable

Yep, it appears those words seem to be the antithesis of that sign.

Anyone else have a sign observation they would like to share as it seems to be a recurring theme for this election?

Note: “Long-haired freaky people need not apply”
