    Interagency Agreement with L&I for Manufactured Housing/Mobile Home Inspection

    The City Council approved an interagency agreement with the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), delegating authority to L&I to perform on-site installation inspections on manufactured housing/mobile homes, authorizing the Mayor to sign the agreement.

    Due to the specialized nature of these inspections and the lack of frequency in which they are performed, it is burdensome for city staff to be experts on the requirements and standards of the various models.

    Rather than work with the city, applicants will deal directly with L&I. There is no additional cost to the City or the applicants, and in fact, it creates cost savings for the City, eliminating the additional staff training.

    Early in life when teachers would ask "what do you want to do when you grow up?" James Edwards would answer, "I want to be on SportsCenter". As time went on he ended up going down another path, choosing his love of mathematics to become an engineer. James attended Eastern Washington University where he played 4 years of club baseball. He has worked as an engineer and project manager and earned an MBA from Gonzaga University. James is a local resident of Liberty Lake with his wife, Brittney, and daughter, Blaire. They are expecting another child in early 2020. James is also a certified FAA Part 107 drone pilot and enjoys flying his drone to capture photos from an aerial perspective.
